[pocket-linux] v2.1 Chapter 3 - Unable to open initial console

Hi there!

First I was stuck in Chap. 2 because I forgot to compile "Executable
File Formats" into Kernel. This should be added to the Guide.

Here's my actual woe:

VFS: Insert root floppy disk to be loaded into RAM disk and press ENTER
RAMDISK: Compressed Image found at block 0
VFS: Mounted root (ext2 filesystem) readonly.
Freeing unused kernel memory: 72k freed
Waring unable to open an initial console.
Kernel panic: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel.

Is your "phase2-image.gz" also 7,2k small, or have I just forgotten a kernel setting?

By the way. The output of my "ldd bash" is:

        linux-gate.so.1 =>  (0xffffe000)
        libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x40022000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x40025000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x40000000)

I've stripped the last three libs to /mnt/ramdisk/lib, but I'm wondering about "linux-gate.so.1" should I copy the System.map because of this symbol?

Regards, Tobias
