The GNU/Linux System Architect Toolkit has been revived and has a new
home on SourceForge [http://architect.sourceforge.net/]
Architect is for anyone interested in building a bigger and better
system than what is constructed in the Pocket Linux Guide. What
Architect does is to automate the building of binary packages from
source code. (See the home page to find out how it works.) Currently
Architect can build all of the packages used in the Pocket Linux Guide
plus several more. A notable improvement over the old Architect is that
it is now possible to build gcc and other development packages. It
should be possible to create your own autonomous hard disk-based
installation this way.
If you think you might be interested in this type of thing check out the
project home page [http://architect.sourceforge.net/]. There will soon
be an architect-discuss mailing list on SourceForge, but until then you
can email questions and comments to me directly. I plan to abandon the
original Savannah project site, so if you are on that mailing list it
will soon be going away.
Thanks to everyone who has helped out with this project.
Dave
