Hi Yohann,

I have compiled the kernel 2.6.6 and it is working. So I assume that 2.6.7 
will also work.

I don't have an answer to your second problem (LILO). I am using GRUB. What 
you can try is to use your boot disk with the downloaded root disk of chapter 
2. If this works, then your problem lies most likely in your root disk.

Next step afterwards is to replace the chap02 root disk binaries with yours, 
till you have the problem.
