[pocket-linux] Chapter 3 : no shell

Hi Tibberio,

The last three lines are

RAMDISK: COmpressed image found at block 0
VFS: Mounted root (ext2 filesystem) readonly
Freeing unused kernel memory: 48k freed

then no shell appears 
There are no error messages in the output before these 3 lines

Software:
=======
I am using GRUB, kernel 2.4.26 and bash 2.05a
the root image has size 699K
My ramdisk size 4096K

The linked libraries are
ldd /mnt/bin/bash
	libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x40023000)
	libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x40026000)
	/lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x40000000)

	
What works
=========
If I link the bash shell statically it works.

What doesn't work
==============
When I use the boot image of chapter 2, as given on the pocket-linux website, 
it still doesn't work. So I assume that my boot disk is OK and that the 
problem lies in the root disk.


As said before, the same problem was mentioned at june 2003.
But no solution was given :-(
