[pocket-linux] Scandinavian characters?

Hello!
I'm a student from Finland and found this Pocket-Linux to be a good terminal 
floppy linux for ssh e-mail etc. The default character set is set to Polish 
so I can't type important scandinavian characters (umlauts e.g. in German, 
too). I could't find how to change that option - I hope it is possible. I 
don't know any programming language.

I found about this list in my searches and I hope you can help me. Thank 
you.
