Hi,
Did not work!
So i think the problem, is the way
that RH build the library,
particularly glibc.
a) What is the difference between
libc.so.6 from RH and Slackware ?

Those were all built on a Slackware box so you should be able to do some
comparison.

I have successfully made it so far to the end of Ch 6 (Ch 7 to come)
using RH7.3 and the packages recommended for the LFS project (version
4.1). I had unresolved troubles trying to use the later library
versions accompanying my (don't touch) Mandrake 9.1 (about equivalent
of RH8), and so reverted to an available copy of RH7.3 on which to try
to byuild Pocket Linux on the supposition that some of the later
editions of the libraries in M9.1 might be the problem.
The one trouble I have had with RH7.3 was with the mtab mounts link
(Ch5.3.6), but followed previous advice on the PL website and left it
out, writing an mtab (using gedit) as it was supposed to look, as set
out in Ch5.4.2. That worked.
